The Grand Final Contenders

On Monday, the five teams who have progressed to the Play-Offs met at Old Trafford, where two teams will return on October 12, for the Betfred Super League Grand Final.

Whilst only five teams are left in the running, there isn’t a Super League fan without an opinion on who deserves to lift the trophy at the Theatre of Dreams.

Perhaps your team is still on their pursuit for Grand Final glory, or maybe you’re now secretly getting behind a second team?

Well here’s a run-down of the contenders.

St Helens

Saints have had a record season finishing with an incredible 52 points, picking up the League Leaders’ Shield and maintaining a perfect home record. Will the squad give Head Coach Justin Holbrook an unforgettable send off as Grand Final Champions?

Wigan Warriors

After a turbulent start to the season, Adrian Lam instilled some much-needed focus into the Wigan Warriors squad helping them to finish second in the league on 36 points. Can Wigan achieve back-to-back victories?

Salford Red Devils

Red Devils are the true underdog story of the 2019 season, going from 11th place in 2018 and fighting for Super League status, to finishing 2019 in third. Ian Watson’s squad have had a perfect second half to the season telling the tale of how Salford are rising, but do they have your support?

Warrington Wolves

Is it finally their year? After two heart-break finals in 2018, Steve Price has led his men to Challenge Cup success in 2019, but will they make it a double-whammy by picking up the Super League trophy too?

Castleford Tigers

The Tigers have had a far more chaotic season full of highs and lows, but managed to hold onto their place in the play-offs on points difference, finishing with 30 points in total. After the sorrows of 2017, can Daryl Powell lead his squad to Old Trafford?
