Top Five Hookers

Who are the best hookers in Super League?

5. Danny Houghton

Danny Houghton is a tackling machine, he finished the season as Super League's top tackler making 1259 tackles, on average that's 48.4 tackles per game. Houghton only scored one try but he assisted 12, and also made more marker tackles than any other player in Super League.

4. Joey Lussick

Joey Lussick has been one of the key performers in Salford Red Devils' rise to the Super League Play-Offs, he hasn't missed a game all season. Lussick has been involved in 25 tries, assisting 13 and scoring 12.

3. Sam Powell

Adrian Lam will be sweating on the fitness of Sam Powell after he injured his wrist in their play-off victory over Salford. Powell has assisted 12 tries this term, making 948 tackles and 952 metres.

2. James Roby

The Man of Steel award looked to be in the hands of Saints' hooker, James Roby, at the start of the season as he led the way. An injury to his hand saw Roby miss 12 games this season, however, his performances before the injury and on his return earn him a spot in second.

1. Daryl Clark

Unfortunately, Daryl Clark will not be walking out at Old Trafford this year, after his side lost to Castleford Tigers in the Eliminator Game. This season, he won the Lance Todd Trophy and the Challenge Cup Final. In Super League, he made 19 assists and scored seven tries, while making 2658 metres, 124 tackle busts, and 882 tackles.
