The 2019 Dacia Magic Weekend Fixtures

The two best Betfred Super League teams of 2019 will headline Saturday’s fixtures at Dacia Magic Weekend on its return to St James’ Park next season.

St Helens and Salford Red Devils play each other at 5.15pm on May 23 in-between Castleford Tigers against Catalans Dragons and Leeds Rhinos versus Hull FC.

Dacia Magic Weekend debutants Toronto Wolfpack play Huddersfield Giants at 12.30pm on Sunday, ahead of Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves, who faced each other at Anfield in 2019. Wakefield Trinity against Hull KR is final match at 5pm.

Fixture Format

Magic Weekend fixtures are worked out based on the previous season’s finishing positions in accordance with the agreed formula put in place in advance of the 2019 season in consultation with the Super League clubs.

The 12 Super League teams are put into three groups of four - top, middle and bottom - with the odd-placed team playing the other odd placed team in that group. The same applies to the even-placed teams.

For example: 1st v 3rd, 2nd v 4th and so on. Hence St Helens v Salford Red Devils and Wigan Warriors (2nd) and Warrington Wolves (4th).
