Sky Sports launches RL Retro

Sky Sports is set to bring Rugby League fans a host of classic action from the archives over the coming weeks, starting this Friday with the infamous cross code experiment between Wigan and Bath in 1996.

The games were played over two legs, one under League rules and the second under Union rules. Game one took place at Manchester City's former home Maine Road, whilst the return fixture took place at the home of Rugby Union, Twickenham.

The Wigan side featured a number of names who would go on to switch codes including Martin Offiah, Jason Robinson, Scott Quinnell, Andy Farrell and Shaun Edwards.

Both games will be shown back-to-back this Friday night from 7pm on Sky Sports Arena.
