4 Nov 2020

Wigan Warriors and technical kit partner hummel have announced its eye-catching 2021 home kit – featuring the Club’s striking new badge.
The new shirt incorporates multiple shades of cherry red to create a graphic pattern, with black hoops and white trim.
The shirt features the logo of fan engagement platform IQONIQ, who were today confirmed as the Club’s Principal Partner for the 2021 season onwards.
Wigan Warriors sales director, Geoff Warburton, commented: “Given that 2022 will be our 150th anniversary where we will naturally opt for a traditional cherry and white kit, we wanted to give our designers the freedom to create something a little different to coincide with our new identity.
“We are delighted with the bold design which hummel have produced, something which we feel is the perfect complement to our new badge.

“To support our ambition of moving towards a world-class retail offering as part of the rebrand, we worked closely with renowned sports photographer Paul Cooper whose previous work includes Liverpool FC, Manchester United and Manchester City, where we shot players on location paired with jeans to achieve a more lifestyle feel.
“Our 2021 teamwear range is already proving popular so far and I’m sure there will be plenty of fans looking forward to getting their hands on the new kit.??

Speaking about his brand’s latest creation, hummel commercial director, Neil Burke, added: “We are delighted to have worked closely with the Club to support their new vision for a world-class retail offering.
“We wanted to deliver a jersey that epitomises the words ‘strength’ and ‘power’, using multiple shades of cherry to create a graphic pattern to run throughout, with the strong black bands cutting through.
“We have also mimicked the jersey pattern into the playing shorts to create a contemporary look.??
