Trinity sign Battye

Wakefield Trinity are delighted to announce that prop-forward Eddie Battye has signed a three-year deal at the club.

Battye, who spent a chunk of the 2020 season on loan at the Mobile Rocket Stadium, has joined Trinity from London Broncos for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old was a standout figure in Chris Chester’s team throughout his loan period and will boost Trinity’s pack for the 2021 season and beyond.

Battye has been a consistent part of Danny Ward’s pack at the Broncos over the last few years, whilst also appearing for Sheffield Eagles and Villeneuve Leopards during his professional career.

Speaking on his move to Trinity, Battye said: “I’m just really pleased we’ve got it over the line.

??I’ve always wanted to play in Super League and to get the chance to do that at Wakefield is brilliant. I loved my time here last season and I’m looking forward to joining up with squad once more.

??I’ve been at London for five years and it’s a great club. I wish them all the best in the future as I’ve loved every minute there.??

Head Coach, Chris Chester, added: “I’m really pleased we’ve got Eddie Battye tied up for three years.

??To finally get Eddie’s signature on a piece of paper is great news for the club and great news for Eddie.

??He made a big impression throughout the 2020 season and I’m looking forward to working with him over the next three years.

??I think it’s a significant signing for the club and I couldn’t be happier to have Eddie at the club for the next three years.??
