Fantasy League debrief

Top performers

Hull KR’s Matt Parcell (170K) recorded the highest score of the season and first three figure total with a whopping 101 points in Round 7. The hooker was everywhere for the Robins and scored points across the board, including a try assist, 28 tackles, 224 run metres, 2 clean breaks and 10 tackle busts.

Tom Johnstone (100K) produced an outrageous Fantasy performance after scoring a huge 89 points during a 40-minute stint. The winger left the field due to injury and missed the second stanza, but was unplayable in the opening half – Johnstone scored 2 tries and set up another, made 12 tackle busts, 4 clean breaks and 160 metres from 12 carries.

2021 Fantasy breakthrough forward Ethan Havard (140K) enjoyed rare, extended minutes for the Warriors in Round 7. Havard is a reliable defender and carries strong, making him a go-to Fantasy option if he plays enough minutes. He managed 43 tackles and 113 metres from a 58-minute stint, capped off with a try and earning him 82 points.

Fantasy flops

It was a bad week for Castleford’s highest scoring Fantasy player in Round 7. The high-flying Joe Westerman (165K) managed just 37 minutes on the field after picking up a knock and scored a season-low 20 points in the process.

Front rower Mike Cooper (140K) – a Fantasy heavyweight in recent years – scored just 5 points after picking up a rib issue which reduced his minutes to just 20 in Round 7.

Looking ahead

Fantasy owners will have four full transfers when Super League returns after the Challenge Cup this weekend. It comes ahead of the Easter Weekend and a busy schedule of fixtures in quick succession where players may be rested or pick up niggles that require longer than a few days’ rest.

Warrington, Salford, Leeds and Toulouse all have a week off this week, meaning their players could be fresh heading into the busy period.
