Fantasy League debrief

Top performers

A familiar face topped the Fantasy League scoring in Round 11 – Matt Parcell (170K) racked up another big score despite his sides loss to Leeds Rhinos. Parcell made 52 tackles, 8 tackle busts and 110 metres from 18 carries on his way to a 91 point total.

Tyrone May (110K) wasn’t far behind thanks to a season best 87-point haul. May’s move into the halves in the absence of Josh Drinkwater against Castleford Tigers paid dividend, helping him to 4 try assists and 1 try.

Hat-trick hero Connor Wynne (95K) proved his worth in Round 11 with an impressive 82-point return – priced at 95k he’s a great cheap option at the back.

And it was a Huddersfield Giants romp in Round 11 of Fantasy League with four of their players scoring 70+ points. Luke Yates (170K), Chris McQueen (120K), Theo Fages (140K) and Danny Levi (150K) all had a great return and reinforced their value in Fantasy League this season.

Fantasy flops

Jonny Lomax (125K) left the field after just 27 minutes due to injury in Round 11, managing to score just 12 points in that time. And it was a similar story for Fantasy flyer Jai Field (75K) too.

Field amassed a solid 26 points during the opening half of his Round 11 match but failed to return to the pitch following half time. However, he still remains the third highest overall scoring player in Fantasy despite his early exit.

Andy Ackers (150K) scored a below par 23 points in Round 11 after managing just 18 minutes from the bench. The Red Devils have been heavily reliant on Ackers in the opening 10 rounds and, after a strenuous Easter period, chose to give Amir Bourouh a start. Ackers averaged above a point a minute when he eventually came on but was unable to record a big score due to his limited minutes.

Looking ahead

May is a quiet month in Betfred Super League with just two Rounds in the next four weeks. The Challenge Cup takes precedent this month which could have ramifications in Fantasy League.

Wigan, St Helens, Huddersfield and Hull KR are all vying for a place in the Challenge Cup Final. After the Semi-Finals this weekend, Rounds 12 & 13 could see changes in the four sides line ups depending on their success this Saturday.

Sides that reach the Challenge Cup Final have historically rested key players the week before the Challenge Cup (Round 13), which could see big name Fantasy players left out.

Keep a close eye on injury updates and squad lists over the next couple of weeks to ensure there's no nasty surprises in your Fantasy side.
