Fantasy League debrief

Star performers

Jake Mamo (150K) led the way in Round 12 of Fantasy thanks to a 94 point performance. Mamo crossed for 2 tries, ran for an incredible 240 metres – which included a length of the field intercept try – and 8 tackle busts. He got through his fair share of defensive work too, making 27 tackles on the edge.

Saints winger Tommy Makinson (120K) recorded an impressive 85 points after a two try performance on Friday Night. Makinson also made 3 clean breaks, ran for 149 metres and kicked 4 goals – offering varied avenues to score points thanks to St Helens free-flowing attack. Makinson also moved into fourth overall top points scorer in Fantasy following this weekends action.

Elsewhere, Olly Ashall-Bott (95K) recorded his best score of the season - and the third best of the round - as he led Toulouse to a huge win against Trinity. The full-back was everywhere for his side on Sunday and crossed for a brace of tries, made 8 tackle busts, 3 clean breaks and 158 metres.

Fantasy flops

Fantasy managers were left wrestling with their squad thanks to big hitting players from both Wigan and Huddersfield being omitted in Round 12.

Liam Farrell (170K) and Luke Yates (170K) were both left out of their respective teams following their Challenge Cup Semi-Final wins despite being included in their 21-man squads, whilst Danny Levi (150K) had his minutes reduced after starting on the bench – scoring just 21-points on Thursday Night.

John Bateman (170K) was also rested which, along with Farrell, left the two highest scoring Fantasy second rowers out of action. And Fantasy bargain buy Jai Field (75K) was left out too – his low price tag undoubtedly made it difficult for managers to find quality to replace him.

Looking ahead

All eyes will be on Wigan Warriors and Huddersfield Giants squads as we head into Round 13. They are just a week away from their huge Challenge Cup Final clash which could mean players are again rested or given limited time on the field.

But thankfully, this is the final round of the month – so Fantasy managers can splash out on trades safe in the knowledge that when Round 14 comes along, all trades will be reset and teams can be managed accordingly.
