Top performers

Rhinos electric hooker Brad Dwyer was the standout performer in Round 23 of Fantasy League. Dwyer was busy from dummy half and contributed with a try, try assist, 2 line breaks, 5 tackle busts and 142 run metres from 15 carries on his way to a 93 point total.

Matt Parcell cemented his spot at the top of the Fantasy charts thanks to a 91 point return on Friday Night. Parcell scored a try, made 2 line breaks, 6 tackle busts and completed 36 tackles during a valiant 80-minute stint in the middle.

Saints duo Konrad Hurrell and Tommy Makinson were devastating on their right edge during the Champions big win away at Hull. Hurrell scored 80 points thanks to 2 tries, an assist, 3 line breaks and 146 run metres, whilst Makinson finished on 79 points after 2 tries, a try assist, 111 run metres and 8 goals.

There were also notable scores of 70 or more for Catalans' Joe Chan (78), Toulouse's Daniel Alvaro (73), young Rhino Morgan Gannon (72), and Wolves pair Oliver Holmes (70) and George Williams (70).

Fantasy flops

Liam Farrell was again left out of the Wigan side in Round 23 despite being included in the 21-man squad - Farrell is carrying a slight knock and wasn’t risked against Wakefield.

Saints starlet Jack Welsby was another notable absentee over the weekend. Like Farrell, Welsby was included in his sides 21-man squad but didn’t feature due to carrying a slight injury.

Injuries to popular Fantasy players Cameron Smith and Shaun Kenny-Dowall dramatically reduced both players scores in Round 23. Kenny-Dowall managed to score just 9 points before leaving the field after 15 minutes, whilst Smith recorded just 6 points before his injury.

Looking ahead

Perhaps the most significant piece of Fantasy news this week is Matt Parcell’s one match suspension. Parcell picked up the suspension following Friday’s game against Leeds and will miss Round 24 to the dismay of thousands of managers who own him.

Centre Harry Newman’s season could be over after picking up a reoccurrence of a hamstring injury. Newman burst back onto the scene for the Rhinos in recent weeks but looks to have played his last match this season.

The August Bank Holiday is fast approaching with two rounds of Betfred Super League action over the weekend. Fantasy sides will need to be managed accordingly to ensure trades are available during the busy Bank Holiday period.
