Williams shortlisted for IRL's Men's Golden Boot

Warrington Wolves and England half-back George Williams is one of five players shortlisted for the Men's 2022 International Rugby League Golden Boot.

The Golden Boot, one of rugby league's oldest and most prestigious awards, will be presented to the Men's, Women's and Wheelchair international player of the year at Midlands Hotel, Manchester on Tuesday, November 15.

After recently announcing a long list for the Men's Golden Boot, a panel of leading journalists and commentators from Australia, England and New Zealand has helped produce a short list of five nominees.

Golden Cap recipients Cameron Smith (Australia), James Graham (England) and Ruben Wiki (New Zealand) will choose the winner.

The award will be presented by another Golden Cap recipient and former Leeds, Bradford, Warrington and Salford Adrian Morley, who - along with Smith, Graham and Wiki - is just one of nine players to have played 50 or more Tests.

Williams has been shortlisted alongside England teammate Victory Radley, as well as Jarome Luai (Samoa), Joey Manu (New Zealand) and Josh Addo-Carr (Australia).

The Warrington Wolves playmaker has enjoyed an eye-catching World Cup campaign despite England's Semi-Final exit - Williams featured in all five of England's World Cup outings, finishing with three tries, nine try assists, five line breaks and 854 run metres.
