Lafai, Williams and Ipape included in Men's RLWC Team of the Tournament

Three Betfred Super League players have been included in the Rugby League World Cup Men's Team of the Tournament.

The team - chosen by a select specialist panel comprising of former players, ambassadors and members of the media - was announced earlier today and includes 2022 Super League Dream Team centre Tim Lafai, Warrington Wolves' George Williams and newly promoted Leigh Leopards' hooker Edwin Ipape.

Salford Red Devils' Tim Lafai is included after a memorable World Cup campaign which has seen Samoa reach their first ever major sporting final. Lafai - who was not included in Samoa's initial 24-man squad before the tournament began - has been integral to Samoa's rise which most recently saw them knock England out of the Semi-Final in dramatic fashion.

George Williams - who was part of the England squad beaten by Samoa in last weekend's Semi-Final - is also selected following a stellar World Cup campaign which resulted in him being shortlisted for the IRL's Men's Golden Boot award.

2022 Betfred Championship Player of the Year Edwin Ipape is rewarded for his eye-catching performances ahead of his debut Super League season in 2023. The Leigh Leopards hooker was a stand-out for Papua New Guinea throughout their World Cup campaign.
