Tex Hoy named Glen's Player of the Month

Rugby League fans have spoken - and Tex Hoy of Hull FC has won the first Glen's Vodka Super League Player of the Month for 2023.

The coveted award to recognise the competition's form player is being decided for the first time in 2023 through the votes of supporters on the Our League app.

And after a huge response to the first poll when the six candidates were revealed last week, Hull's new Australian full-back has come out on top as February's Glen's Vodka Player of the Month.

Hoy, a 23-year-old Australian full-back whose father Matt is a professional surfer, joined the Black and Whites from Newcastle Knights during the winter, and made an instant impression as Hull FC started the season with consecutive wins against Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos.

The battle has already started to follow Hoy as the Glen's Vodka Player of the Month for March - last weekend's Betfred Super League Round Three matches were the first to count, with eye-catching victories for Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards, and Round Four kicking off tomorrow when Wigan Warriors play Catalans Dragons. The shortlist will be announced at the end of the month.
