Round 17 preview

Thursday 29 June

Warrington Wolves v Leeds Rhinos (20.00) - Sky Sports Main Event & Arena

Warrington half-back George Williams remains unavailable for the Wolves due to a hamstring injury. James Harrison also drops out of the 21-man squad after picking up a two match suspension. 

Josh Drinkwater could make a timely return to action for Warrington after struggling with an ankle injury in recent weeks. Adam Holroyd could also make his first appearance since round 2 after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Nene McDonald has passed his return to play protocols and could feature for the Rhinos in Round 17. Tom Holroyd is also back in contention after missing the Rhinos' last three games through injury. Justin Sangare has picked up a knock and misses out this week.

Friday 30 June

Wakefield Trinity v Salford Red Devils (19.45) - Be Well Support Stadium

Reece Lyne returns to the Wakefield squad and could make his first appearance since April against Salford on Friday. Sam Eseh and Robbie Butterworth also come into the squad.

Jordy Crowther, Morgan Smith and loanee Romain Franco all drop out of the Trinity squad in Round 17.

Salford are without full back Ryan Brierley for Friday's trip to Wakefield after he suffered a head knock against Wigan last weekend. Sam Stone also drops out due to injury.

Reigning Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel Brodie Croft is again absent as he recovers from a hand injury, whilst England international Andy Ackers is expected to return next week. 

Leigh Leopards v Hull KR (20.00) - Sky Sports Arena

Zak Hardaker is back on deck for the Leopards after serving his one match suspension in Round 16. Jack Hughes makes a timely return to the Leigh squad this week and could feature for the first time since Easter, whilst Ben Nakubuwai is also included.

An injury against the Dragons last weekend sees Umyla Hanley drop out of the Leopards squad. Matt Davis and Nathan Wilde are also missing this week. 

There's just one change to the Robins squad following last weeks win against Wakefield. Ryan Hall takes his place back in the Hull KR squad after having a clean out on his knee and replaces Jimmy Keinhorst.

St Helens v Castleford Tigers (20.00) - Totally Wicked Stadium

Mark Percival returns to the Saints squad after sitting out their Round 16 defeat to Hull FC due to HIA protocols. Sam Royle is also included and replaces Curtis Sironen, who is expected to miss the next couple of weeks due to a hamstring injury. Wesley Bruines is the other player to drop out. 

Riley Dean could make his Tigers debut on Friday after joining the club on a season long loan a fortnight ago. Dean was unable to feature against his parent club, Warrington, in Round 16. Albert Vete is in contention after recovering from a calf injury, while Mahe Fonua is also included.

Nathan Massey drops out of the Cas squad after picking up a knock last time out, with youngsters Aaron Willis and George Hill also missing out.

Wigan Warriors v Huddersfield Giants (20.00) - DW Stadium

Wigan boast an unchanged squad following their win at Salford on Sunday. Forward Kaide Ellis remains unavailable as he continues to serve his three match suspension.

Sam Hewitt and Fenton Rogers have both been recalled from their respective loan spells and could feature for the Giants in Round 17. Jake Connor is again included after featuring for the reserves last week. 

Influential half back Theo Fages and Joe Greenwood both drop out of the Giants squad due to injury.

Saturday 1 July

Hull FC v Catalans Dragons (15.00) - Our League

Hull FC head coach Tony Smith has named an unchanged 21-man squad following last weeks win against St Helens. Adam Swift is again included in the squad despite sitting out in Round 16. The Black & Whites remain without Liam Sutcliffe, Scott Taylor and Tex Hoy through injury.

League Leaders Catalans Dragons make just one change to their squad ahead of Saturday's trip to Hull. Matt Whitley has served his suspension and links back up with the Dragons squad, replacing the injured Mickael Goudemand.
