Miski named Glen’s Player of the Month
6 Sep 2023
Rugby League fans have spoken ? and Abbas Miski of Wigan Warriors has been named Glen's Vodka Super League Player of the Month for August.
This season the coveted award to recognise the competition's form player is being decided for the first time through the votes of Our League subscribers. And following a huge response when the six candidates were revealed last week, the Warriors winger has come out on top as the August Glen's Vodka Player of the Month.
Miski joined Wigan from London Broncos in 2021 and has played a standout role in Matt Peet?s attack during recent months with the Warriors now sitting top of the Betfred Super League table as the play-offs draw ever closer.
Lebanese international Miski got August off to a firing start by crossing the whitewash four times in Wigan?s win against Hull KR in Round 21 of the competition. The 26-year-old then signed off for the month with a hat-trick against Catalans Dragons during the Warriors shock 34-0 dismantling of the league-leaders in Perpignan.
The battle for who will follow Miski as Glen's Vodka Player of the Month for September has already begun. Last weekend?s Round 24 fixtures were the first to count with victories for Hull KR, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC, Leigh Leopards, St Helens and the Warriors again. Round 25 begins on Friday (September 8) with St Helens hosting Leigh Leopards live on Sky Sports (KO 8pm.) The shortlist will be announced at the end of the month.
