Inu: We need to stand up and perform

Betfred Super League returns to Channel 4 this weekend when Salford Red Devils host a resurgent Warrington Wolves on Sunday.

The Red Devils will be looking to get their Play-Off hunt back on track after a disappointing loss away at Wigan last week, but face a rejuvenated Wolves side who head into the clash after back-to-back league wins.

Salford's next two fixtures will define their season. They face the two sides who, alongside the Red Devils, are vying for the fifth and sixth Play-Off spot. Wins against the Wolves on Sunday and Hull KR next Saturday would put Salford in poll position to secure a top six spot - something that assistant coach Krisnan Inu is all too aware of.

"We've got two big games coming up and we're competing for that 5th and 6th spot," admitted Inu.

"Every game is huge for us and we're treating them like a final so yes, we'll get our boys ready to go again this weekend.

"We're not where we want to be but we're still in the mix for the Play-Off spots. Our main focus is getting two points this weekend."

After enduring an extremely tough patch of form losing seven consecutive games - resulting in the departure of Daryl Powell - Warrington have managed to find form reminiscent of the opening eight rounds and now find themselves firmly in control of their own destiny.

"They've been the benchmark for most of the season," explained Red Devils assistant, Inu.

"They've been at their best in the past few weeks and they're the in-form team at the moment. We need to prepare well and watch out for their strengths this weekend.

"Every game is different. They've got some big bodies plus a lot of lads with speed. When that ball does come loose that's one thing we do need to focus on. It's also about focusing on what we need to be good at and how we can have an impact on the game."

Despite suspensions and injuries causing havoc in the Red Devils camp, Inu insists it hasn't become a distraction to group and the players that are still on deck are more than capable of getting the job done.

"Experience is huge. With the injuries it can be important for the experienced players to come in and we recognise that experience plays a big part.

"There's not too much change to the side. Everyone's preparing the right way and the same as usual. Everyone wants to play, and everyone wants to win so with that mentality, we're in the right place.

"Like I said, the boys prepare well. They look after themselves throughout the week to be in the best condition for when the games come around. When it comes to the suspensions and injuries, it doesn't concern me because I'm confident you can put any of the lads in that jersey and I know they'll perform and do well.

"These are the big games we want to be involved in. Of course, we'd like to be higher up, but these are the games we have to stand up and perform in."

The Red Devils welcome Warrington Wolves to the Salford Stadium this Sunday and it's live on Channel 4.
