Golding signs extension with Giants

Huddersfield Giants have announced that Jamaica International Ashton Golding has signed a new three-year deal at the club.

Golding joined the club in 2020 after leaving Leeds Rhinos and spending a season in the Championship with Featherstone Rovers and quickly established himself as a fans favourite at the John Smith's Stadium.

Performances full of effort, heart and desire proved to the Cowbell Army that Ashton was at the club for the long run and would run through walls for the Claret and Gold, with his absence through injury showing during the 2023 Betfred Super League season.

Golding can play in a number of positions and his utility value is well respected by the Giants, with the club handing the Jamaican International a three-year extension to his contract that sees him stay in the Cowbell Army until 2027.

After penning his new deal, Golding discussed how much the Giants means to him and how excited he is to spend the next three years at a club that he's found a home at.

"I'm over the moon, it's not the best kept secret with my injury last season and it was really frustrating for myself, but the club has backed me, seen what I can do on the field they've hopefully seen what I bring off the field in and around the lads and with the younger ones, so to be rewarded with a 3-year-deal at such a historical club, I truly believe we are on the cusp of something special.

"So it's outstanding for me individually and outstanding for the club to have got it done, All round happy parties, there's not many times where I go away from deals that have been done and pop open Champagne, but for this I was truly emotionally happy with this deal."
