Salford sign Nofoaluma

Salford Red Devils have announced the signing of former West Tigers star David Nofoaluma on a one-year-deal.

The electric winger joins the club after a prolific spell in the NRL, where he scored 100 tries in 192 games for West Tigers, becoming their highest ever try-scorer.

He becomes Salford's ninth signing of the window, ahead of their Round 1 clash with Leeds Rhinos on Friday. He joins Nene Macdonald, Cade Cust, Ethan Ryan, Joe Shorrocks, Chris Hankinson, Joe Mellor, Matty Foster, and Kai Morgan, through the door at the Salford Stadium.

The Samoan international brings plenty of experience and skill to the Red Devils backline and will join the team shortly after his arrival from Australia.

After confirmation of his signature, Head Coach, Paul Rowley spoke to Salford's official website

"I am pleased to add David to the group as we continue to build our squad. He replaces a couple of places vacated by Ken (Sio) and Joe (Burgess), who were both fantastic players for us.

"David's CV is fantastic, and again, the influence and mutual respect that Krissy (Inu) has with players in world rugby has proven fruitful. Our quality back line has now got the competition needed in every position.

?Myself, the staff, and players are looking forward to seeing an exceptional player and character join us on our Super League journey."

Director of Rugby & Operations, Ian Blease has added:

"We have been searching all player opportunities for some time now, and when David became available it was one that, as a club, we did not want to let pass us by.

"A real tried and tested, quality NRL player, David will no doubt enhance our 2024 squad, bringing his speed, agility and try-scoring hunger to the club.

"He will be a threat against all teams, from anywhere on the pitch, and this signing will no doubt excite our fans. I for one can wait to see him in a Red Devils shirt!"
