Benjamin Garcia staying with the Dragons until 2026
26 Feb 2024

Catalans Dragons have announced that captain Benjamin Garcia has signed a new two-year deal with the club.
The extension will keep the Frenchman at the Stade Gilbert Brutus until the end of the 2026 Betfred Super League season.
Garcia was part of the side that lifted the Challenge Cup at Wembley back in 2018 before becoming captain in 2021 and leading the Dragons to the Betfred Super League Grand Final in both 2021 and 2023.
On the decision, Garcia said: "I'm very happy to extend my contract with the Dragons. I still have the same motivation and the same ambition to win a title with the club.
"There were a lot of changes during the off-season, but the group is still going strong together.
"Steve McNamara has also extended his contract, so there's a clear project around him and Neil McIlory and I want to be a part of it."
Catalans Head Coach, Steve McNamara, added: "Ben continues to drive this team forward with his leadership both on and off the field.
"His personal performances over my time here have been exceptional and we are delighted he has agreed a new deal."
