Willie Peters named Betfred Coach of the Month

Hull KR head coach Willie Peters has been named the Betfred Super League Coach of the Month for February.  

Based on the first two rounds of the Betfred Super League, Peters has been awarded the first Coach of the Month award for 2024 following back-to-back wins in February.

Hull KR have begun the season in strong form and opened their campaign with an emphatic 0-22 defeat of local rivals Hull FC in Round 1 before facing Leeds Rhinos the following weekend - that encounter another solid performance for Peter's men who claimed a 22-12 victory.

Discussing Willie Peter's outstanding month in charge, one member of the voting panel explained:

"If coaches are judged on results and recruitment then Willie Peters has ticked all the boxes at the start to the season. Kelepi Tanginoa and Jai Whitbread have been excellent, seamlessly slotting in, while Tyrone May's improvement could be seen from week one to week two in his new partnership with Mikey Lewis. His team dominated the derby with a professional display and then showed some steel and character to overcome Leeds Rhinos."

The voting panel is made up of selected members of the Rugby League media.
