Giants bolster ranks with signing of Gracie Hobbs

Huddersfield Giants have confirmed the signing of Welsh forward Gracie Hobbs ahead of the 2024 Betfred Women's Super League season.

The 22-year-old has recently made the switch to Rugby League from Union and has been selected as part of Wales Women's 2024 Rugby League National Squad.

On the move, Hobbs said: "Having played rugby union since 11, I'm ready for a new challenge. Giants have provided me with this and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to play and represent the club at the highest level.

"Learning a new game comes with its challenges however with the help and support of the team and the coaches it's made the transition a lot easier. I've settled in well and feel as though this is the right place for me to grow.

Giants Head Coach Lori Halloran said: "It's been a pleasure to have Gracie as part of our training sessions recently. She adds a great level of intensity which is just what we need in our journey to the top.

"Having her in the squad and on board for the rest of the season is a massive boost, adding to an already impressive forward pack.

"We're very pleased to have made this signing and we cannot wait to see how she gets on throughout the season."

The Giants kick-off their 2024 Betfred Women's Super League season against Leeds Rhinos on Friday 19 April.
