Paul Rowley named Betfred Coach of the Month

Salford Red Devils Head Coach, Paul Rowley, has been named the Betfred Super League Coach of the Month for June.

Salford enjoyed a perfect set of results in June which saw them overcome London Broncos, Warrington Wolves and St Helens.

Rowley led the Red Devils to their first league double over Saints since 1980 in Round 15. It was another sensational encounter between the two sides, having already produced a stunning display back in March's reverse fixture.

Marc Sneyd was the mastermind behind the victory - the scrum-half nervelessly converted Chris Hankinson’s superb try to give Salford the edge after it seemed that Mark Percival had sent Saints back to the top of Super League.

Sneyd had also been to the fore as two Deon Cross tries and another from Kallum Watkins had kept them at arm’s length, until Percival's try gave him a personal haul of 10 points.

And just a week before that Rowley’s side stunned Sam Burgess' Warrington and recorded a 14-25 victory over their opponents at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

One member of the voting explained their support of Rowley below:

“Amidst the speculation linking him with Leeds Rhinos and a run of tough fixtures, Salford and Paul Rowley stuck to what they know best which is getting results.

“Against London they got the job done with an under-strength side, and then backed up with returning players some phenomenal results against Warrington and St Helens with tactical precision.”
