Round 24 Preview

It’s another BIG week of Betfred Super League fixtures, with just FOUR rounds of the regular season remaining.

As teams in and around the top six take on each other and with Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos making a late Play-Off charge, could we see changes to the league standings in Round 24?

Find out more about the Play-Off run in here.

Friday 30 August

Leigh Leopards v Warrington Wolves (20.00) – live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

There's a scintillating encounter on Friday night between Leigh Leopards and Warrington Wolves. The Wolves may have already confirmed their place in the Play-Offs for 2024, but a top two finish is still very much on their radar.

The Leopards, who have won seven out of their last eight matches, now find themselves just one point away from sixth spot – a remarkable turnaround for Adrian Lam’s men.

Warrington's Matt Dufty remains sidelined with a knee injury. Lachlan Fitzgibbon is in line to return although James Harrison is also ruled out through injury.

Hull KR v Salford Red Devils (20.00) – live on Sky Sports

League leaders Hull KR are looking to make it eight wins from eight when they welcome Salford Red Devils to Sewell Group Craven Park.

It’s one a-piece in Super League this year, but it’s the Robins who have won their last six home meetings with the Red Devils.

The home side have made just one change, as James Batchelor drops out to serve a one-match penalty notice he picked up in their Round 23 win over St Helens. This means Oliver Gildart comes back into contention after missing last weekend due to failing a HIA in Round 22.

Fresh off scoring 60 points at home, each of those who put points on the board in Salford once again feature in the squad, and returning from their respective one-match bans picked up at Magic Weekend are Oliver Partington and Tim Lafai, as their names are restored to the squad list.

Saturday 31 August

Hull FC v Castleford Tigers (15.00) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

It was a 30-22 scoreline in Castleford’s favour last time out, but who will come out on top in Round 24?

Simon Grix has made five changes to his Hull squad. Ligi Sao and Denive Balmforth both return from suspension, while Jack Walker returns from injury and Sam Eseh is selected having been unavailable against his parent club last weekend.

Danny Houghton is also included having recovered from injury and is in line to make his 450th Hull FC appearance.

The five players replace Jed Cartwright (head), Ed Chamberlain (shoulder), Matty Laidlaw, Lennon Bursell and Will Hutchinson.

For the Tigers, Jacob Miller, Luis Johnson and Fletcher Rooney all miss out this week, and Muizz Mustapha, George Lawler and Cain Robb all return to the 21-man squad.

Catalans Dragons v Wigan Warriors (20.00) - live on Sky Sports

There’s another tasty top six clash to look forward to, as Catalans Dragons meet with Wigan Warriors in the south of France in a Grand Final rematch.

It’s a crucial game for the inconsistent Catalans and their top six hopes, as they sit in sixth place just one and two points in front of Leigh and Leeds respectively.

The two points are as equally important for the Warriors, who will look to keep up with Hull KR at the top end of the table.

The Dragons have kept the same squad, with Ben Lam also being selected in for the first time since his signing for the French side.

The Warriors head coach has made two changes ahead of the Round 24 meeting at the Stade Gilbert Brutus as Kaide Ellis and Bevan French replace Noah Hodkinson and Nathan Lowe.

Sunday 1 September

Huddersfield Giants v St Helens (15.00) live on BBC Two, Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Super League is back on the BBC for Round 24, as Huddersfield Giants go head-to-head with St Helens.

Both suffered heavy defeats in the previous round, and will be aiming to bounce back on Saturday. It'll be Saints' second trip to the John Smith's Stadium this season, where they beat Huddersfield 0-28 in Round 2.

London Broncos v Leeds Rhinos (15.00) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Finally, Round 24 concludes with more action in the capital this weekend as Brad Arthur’s Rhinos travel to face London Broncos.

Leeds have resurged under their new head coach and their Play-Off race has now well and truly been reignited. But will the Broncos stand in their way?
