Hull KR are delighted to confirm Mikey Lewis has agreed a new five-year deal with the club, keeping the England International and Betfred Challenge Cup Winner at Sewell Group Craven Park until the end of 2030.
Lewis continues to reach new heights for the Robins after being awarded the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel Award in 2024 for a stand-out season in which he helped fire the Red and Whites to a maiden Super League Grand Final.
Heading into 2025, Hull KR confirmed the club’s iconic number 6 shirt, retired in tribute to Roger Millward, would be worn by Lewis for the upcoming season. The number was brought out of retirement with the blessing of Roger’s family.
Having made 129 appearances and amassed 526 points for Hull KR, Lewis has had a year to remember for the Robins as his game continues to evolve.
Lewis burst onto the scene as an 18-year-old stand-off in 2019, known for his electric pace and off the cuff attacking style. In 2025, the 24-year-old has helped fire the Robins to a Challenge Cup with the mercurial stand-off firing over the match-winning conversion for the side to claim their first major trophy in 40 years.
Since winning the cup, Lewis has gone on to help push the Red and Whites to their first League Title since 1985 as Hull KR finished the 2025 Betfred Super League season in first position on 44 points, their highest total in the modern era.
Lewis will now look to help the Robins reach their second Betfred Super League Grand Final in as many years.
On the international stage, the stand-off has now helped England to two series wins over Tonga in 2023 and Samoa in 2024, respectively. Lewis made a significant impact in both series openers, scoring a try in each to give the Lions the edge in the contests.
Speaking to hullkr.co.uk on his new five-year deal, Mikey Lewis said: “It’s a massive honour. This place feels like home for me. The way I’ve seen this club change since the day I started my first pre-season in 2018, it feels a long time ago.
There’s been a massive turnaround at this club and I want to continue to be a part of that journey.
I feel like the East side of Hull have really brought me in as one of their own. The city and the club mean everything to me.
I want to create my own legacy here at Hull KR and win trophies with the team I’ve got around me. I don’t see why we can’t do that and create our own legacy as a team.
We want to win as much as we can. Being able to do that and come out and train and play with your best mates is a dream. Over the next five years I just want to keep building on this year, we’ve been building over the last two or three years now. We want to be up there every year competing for trophies in finals. I want to make sure I don’t leave anything on the field.
I want to thank Willie (Peters), the coaching staff, the team alongside Paul (Lakin) and the board for giving me this opportunity to stay here for a long time. I play in front of the best fans in Super League every week and without everyone’s support I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Hull KR Head Coach, Willie Peters was delighted to see Mikey commit his long-term future to the club: “It’s a significant signing not just for Hull KR but for the Super League and the game in the UK.
It’s important for clubs to keep their up-and-coming stars over here with the expansion of the NRL. When players like Mikey do commit to their club for five years, you can’t understate how important that is.
Mikey has finalised this deal on the back of looking at everything in his life, it’s not only about him now but it’s about his little boy. That shows how far Mikey has come with his personal growth and his maturity.”
