Dodd signs for the Dragons

Catalans Dragons have announced the signing of Lewis Dodd from the 2026 season.

The English halfback, 23, who played for South Sydney Rabbitohs last season, has signed a one-year deal with the club.

On the signing, Lewis Dodd, said: “After speaking with Joel and the staff about the vision and direction the owner and the team have for the club, I knew straight away it was something I wanted to be apart of. The ambition and belief within the group really stood out to me and I can’t wait to get started at Catalans.

"I’ve seen first hand how passionate and loyal the fans are. The atmosphere they create is something special, and I’m really looking forward to running out in front of them and giving everything I’ve got. The expectations here are clear, to compete for Super League titles and Challenge Cups. That’s exactly the type of challenge that excites me. And I’m determined to play my part in helping the club achieve the success it deserves."

A product of St Helens’ Academy, Lewis Dodd rose through all the junior ranks before making his professional debut in 2020. Quickly becoming a key member of the squad, he helped lead the team to multiple titles. With St Helens, he won the Super League three times (2020–2022), the Challenge Cup in 2021, and the World Club Challenge in 2023, where he scored the winning drop goal against NRL champions Penrith Panthers.

A creative playmaker with a precise kicking game and excellent vision, Dodd scored 30 tries and 152 points in 88 appearances for the Saints.

After four strong seasons with St Helens, the young English playmaker moved to the NRL for the 2025 season, joining South Sydney Rabbitohs. Having played 6 NRL games and 12 New South Wales Cup games, Lewis Dodd will now make his return to Super League next season.

Dragons head coach, Joel Tomkins, said: “Lewis is a great fit for what we want to build at the club. Still young in his career and motivated to achieve success with the Dragons, his combination with the rest of our spine players will be a huge asset to us.

"After speaking to Lewis, it was clear that he wants to work hard, earn the respect of his teammates and take his game to the next level which is exactly what we want from our new recruits.”
