Super League celebrated its 30th Birthday in Round 6, kicking off with one of the competition’s foundation fixtures, Castleford Tigers versus Bradford Bulls.
Throughout this special round, the captains of each team handed over pennants to each other ahead of each game to signify the 30 Years of Super League, which started on Thursday Night.

A points fest well and truly unfolded at the OneBore Stadium, with Jason Qareqare's hat-trick inspiring a terrific turnaround as the Tigers beat the Bulls, 40-28.
The first forty minutes of this West Yorkshire Derby were fiercely fought, but Ryan Carr’s side responded perfectly to their sorry defeat at Warrington Wolves a week before, with a blitz of tries taking the hosts 24 points clear just ten minutes into the second half.
It was a much-needed confidence boost for Castleford, who look forward to welcoming high flying neighbours Wakefield Trinity to town in Rivals Round next weekend.
Meanwhile, Bradford will have to dust themselves down quickly, as they gear up to reunite their famous rivalry with Leeds Rhinos.

On Friday Night, Hull KR reminded everyone why they are the champions with a convincing 52-10 victory against St Helens on home soil.
The Robins returned to Sewell Group Craven Park in what was their first home game of 2026, and ran riot against the Red V, scoring nine tries.
This included two tremendous hat-tricks from Joe Burgess and Mikey Lewis, as well as a try each from Jez Litten, James Batchelor and Jai Whitbread, as Willie Peters’ men kickstarted their title defence.
Both sides will now prepare to face their nearest and dearest on Rivals Round's Good Friday.

Elsewhere, Wakefield Trinity recorded a third straight Super League win away at York Knights, but were made to work hard for the two points on offer (26-14).
Their victory came just hours after announcing the signing of NRL star Roger Tuivasa-Sheck for 2027, marking a real statement of intent for the club.
Wakefield’s wingers stole the show on Friday Night with two tries apiece from Tom Johnstone and Oli Pratt.
It was the Knights who opened the scores, however, as Sam Wood and Ben Jones-Bishop touched down in the first half, but they couldn’t quite keep up with Trinity in the closing stages.

On Saturday, Huddersfield Giants stunned Wigan Warriors at The Brick Community Stadium.
The Giants were able to welcome several key players back into their side, with Adam Clune being one of the influential figures in Round 6.
It was a clash between top and bottom as Huddersfield ensured their first win of the season with an emphatic 16-34 victory.
Tara Jones also became the first woman to referee a Super League game.

The Warriors were clear favourites heading into this contest, but tries from Jacob Gagai, Tanguy Zenon and Niall Evalds gave the visitors a 16-0 lead – and shocked the hosts early doors.
Debutants Jacob Douglas and Connor Wrench added further scores, as well as skipper Clune, as the Giants look to build on this impressive performance.

There was Golden Point drama over Birthday Weekend – one of Super League’s many innovations over its 30 years.
Leigh Leopards survived a late scare from Toulouse Olympique after almost letting a 20-0 lead slip.
The hosts went 20 points up courtesy of a Josh Charnley double and tries from Innes Senior and Liam Horne; with just 30 minutes of the match played.
Toulouse forged a comeback though - first through Romeo Tropis’ effort and then a Benjamin Laguerre double - narrowing the gap to just two points.
Jake Shorrocks then kicked a successful penalty goal to make the scores level on the hooter, sending the sides into a nail-biting extra-time.
Man of the hour Gareth O’Brien quickly came up with the spoils, producing the winning drop goal for the Leopards, and in turn ending their four-game losing streak (21-20).

Sunday saw Super League celebrate it's birth date, with double the action on show.
First, Hull FC welcomed Catalans Dragons to the MKM Stadium. The Black & Whites survived a late scare from the Dragons and in turn secured back-to-back wins (24-20).
Arthur Romano, Lewis Martin, Logan Moy and Sam Lisone took advantage of poor Dragons defence to score tries in the first half, but Leo Darrelatour scored twice and Lenny Marc and Charlie Staines touched down to make it a nervy finish for the home support.

Then, the party was in full swing at AMT Headingley Stadium, as another foundation fixture, Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves, fittingly brought the curtain down on the Birthday Round.
This memorable evening began with a series of celebrations to honour Super League's 30th, before the Rhinos and Wolves' clash played out a highly intense classic.
Warrington went 12-0 up through Josh Thewlis and Josh Smith, but three terrific tries from Super League's current top try scorer Maika Sivo put Leeds back on the front foot.
Toby King edged Sam Burgess' team back into the lead, but Jack Bird's try on his home debut, and a score from Brodie Croft, along with Jake Connor's penalty goal, sealed a remarkable Rhinos victory and ended the Wolves' 100% winning record (26-22).
