PLAY FANTASY LEAGUE HERE!

It’s all to play for after Round 8 of the 2026 season, with only four points separating the top half of the Betfred Super League table.

Will it still be this close when the Play-Offs come round in September? Only time will tell...

How did this week’s standout Fantasy performers do, and who failed to make an impact on the pitch for their team? Let’s take a look!

If you haven’t already you can build your team here!

Top performers

Tom Johnstone (106 points)

After missing out on the first few rounds of the season, the England winger has been running riot recently. Just like his Trinity side.

He, along with teammate Oli Pratt, put the Bulls to the sword on Saturday, with Johnstone scoring four tries, making 240 metres, and five clean breaks against Bradford’s defensive line.

Part of a team bang in form at the moment, Johnstone would make a welcome addition to any Fantasy squad. Priced at 130k, he isn’t the cheapest, but he’s definitely worth it.

Will the Wakefield flier be in your side for Round 9? He emerges as Fantasy’s top performer for Round 8!

George Williams (91 points)

It was match of highs and lows for the Warrington half-back, scoring a fantastic solo try only to go on to be beaten by a stunning Catalans second half comeback!

Williams’ output was another level in Perpignan.

Not only did he score a try, but he also bust through eight would be tacklers, made 190 metres and completed two offloads.

Is that enough evidence to put him in your team before Thursday's 6pm cut-off? He’s one of the more expensive players in Fantasy Super League with a price tag of £160k, but given that display (in defeat too), we’ll say he’s well worth it.

Brodie Croft, Mikey Lewis Tristan Sailor were the three other high-performing halfbacks in week 8 of Fantasy, but who do you prefer?

Jacob Alick-Wiencke (79 points)

The Leopards powerhouse has been called upon more than expected recently, even filling in at centre a few weeks ago. He’s quietly gone about his business in 2026 and has already accumulated 402 Fantasy points!

Alick-Wiencke’s performance against the Knights in Round 8 was everything you’d expect from a second rower. Producing 160 metres in 18 carries, 31 tackles, five tackle busts and a try, head coach Adrian Lam will keep relying on him until more of his Leopards troops return to the action.

Only costing Fantasy players 100k, Alick-Wiencke may provide you a cheaper alternative in this position, whilst still racking up good numbers week in, week out…

Lewis Dodd (69 points)

Dodd’s return to the Betfred Super League after a disappointing tenure in the NRL seems to have rejuvenated both himself and the Dragons.

An impressive outing in the south of France for the half-back resulted in Dodd scoring a hat-trick – a career first for the 24-year-old.

This was followed by an assist and one clean break.

Is there still more to come from the Dragons’ playmaker in the 2026 season?

Looking for a new half-back before Thursday evening? At a reasonable £140k, Dodd could be your man!

Oli Pratt (66 points)

Pratt was of two Trinity players to score a hat-trick of tries against the Bulls in Round 8, and the young centre recently turned winger has continued his fine form since Wakefield’s unbeaten March.

And three tries were just the tip of the iceberg on Saturday.  Looking to get more Fantasy points on a weekly basis? Pratt has proved he can be consistent for the best part of two months now. Get him in your Fantasy team today!

Fantasy flops

Connor Wynne (17 points)

The Bulls winger, just like his team, never got going and made little impact against their West Yorkshire neighbours on Saturday. He’ll be hoping for better as the Bradford welcome the current champions to Bartercard Odsal on Saturday, where a huge performance will be required.

Joe Mellor (13 points)

This is the biggest surprise in this week’s Fantasy. Mellor, a fan favourite for Fantasy players, as well as Fantasy’s current leading points scorer in 2026, was nowhere to be seen in Round 8. He’ll be hoping to bounce back in Round 9 and maintain top spot in the Fantasy game...

Edwin Ipape (9 points)

Ipape is usually a safe choice in Fantasy, but disappointed on his Super League return from injury in Round 8. The Papua New Guinean totalled a discouraging nine points.

Perhaps he is still finding his feet? Could it be worth waiting a couple of weeks before you transfer in Ipape?
