The Betfred Super League returned in Round 11 on Thursday night as the Giants hosted the Saints.
The Saints got off to a very quick start. Tries from Harry Robertson, Lewis Murphy and Owen Dagnall put the visitors into an 18-0 lead inside the opening quarter.
George Delaney’s try extended their lead to 24 at the break.
Huddersfield came out with more intent and showed signs of a fightback. Asher O’Donnell and Adam Swift both crossed to reduce the gap to 12 points.
Jackson Hastings added his fifth goal of the evening for St Helens, before, a Niall Evalds consolation try left the final score at 26-18 to the Saints.
Trinity produced arguably the performance of the Round in their success at the DIY Kitchens Stadium.
Daryl Powell’s side trailed 10-0 before scoring 58 unanswered points, 48 of which came in the second half.
Eight different scorers crossed the whitewash, including prop Caius Faatili, who completed a hat-trick in the space of 21 minutes.
Will Tate, Caleb Hamlin-Uele, Jazz Tevaga, Jake Trueman, Jay Pitts, Jayden Myers and Oli Pratt were the other try scorers.
Wigan proved they look to have turned a corner, after defeating the Rhinos at the Brick Community Stadium.
Jack Farrimond opened the scoring, before Adam Keighran and Noah Hodkinson put the Warriors into a 16-0 half-time lead.
Jake Wardle scored their only try of the second half, meanwhile, Super League’s top scorer, Maika Sivo managed to get on the scoresheet.
Saturday saw three games take place, with all three going to the away sides.
In the first game of the day, the Tigers came from behind to defeat the Knights.
Despite opening the scoring through George Hirst, they slipped behind at the break.
In the second half, they managed to keep the Knights scoreless, while Renouf Atoni and Brock Greacen both scored to win the contest 24-18.
The Wolves survived a second half scare after racing into a 24-0 lead, to then only win by eight points.
A Toby King brace, alongside tries from Josh Smith and Max Wood saw Sam Burgess’ side claim a commanding lead.
However, Toulouse fought back through Mathieu Jussaume and a double from Olly Ashall-Bott wasn’t enough.
Three tries in 12 minutes at the end of the first half was enough for Willie Peters’ Robins to secure victory over the Leopards.
Jacob Alick-Wienck put Leigh ahead inside 15 minutes, however, the hosts failed to capitalise on the momentum.
Peta Hiku, Tom Davies and Arthur Mourgue all scored to put the Robins 20-6 up at half-time.
A dramatic end to the contest saw Leigh score two tries in three minutes through Josh Charnley and Jack Hughes. The Leopards created numerous chances late on, but was unable to score a further try to put them ahead or take the game to golden point.
Sunday saw the final game of Round 11 as the Bulls faced Hull FC.
In a cagey first 40, neither side registered a try, with Bradford leading 6-4 through three penalties from Caleb Aekins.
Hull FC were reduced to 12 men in the 48th minute, after Yusuf Aydin saw red for a dangerous tackle.
The Bulls capitalized on the advantage through Waqa Blake. Before James Batchelor levelled things for Hull.
Ethan Ryan snook over in the corrner to put Bradford back ahead and despite a late Davy Litten try, Hull were unable to claw it back and fell to a 16-14 defeat.
