Sam Tomkins returns to Wigan
28 Mar 2019

It’s the first time Sam Tomkins will return to the DW Stadium to face his old side Wigan Warriors – his last game for Warriors – the 2018 Grand Final.
Catalans Dragons announced the signing of Tomkins in May 2018 on a three-year contract with an option of a further year.
The England star was named Super League Young Player of the Year for two years running in 2009 and 2010, he won the 2012 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel as well as featuring in five successive Super League Dream Teams while at Wigan.
Tomkins has settled in to life in Perpignan in the south of France, it will be the first time he’s played against his former club after the DW Stadium was home to Tomkins for many years.

Catalans have won their last two games, the first was a victory at the KCOM Craven Park against Hull KR, before beating Leeds Rhinos on home soil with four tries from winger Fouad Yaha.
The French side currently sit in 6th position, two points behind Castleford Tigers in third place, winning four out of seven games with three of their wins coming in Perpignan.
History does not look good for Catalans though, their last victory at the DW Stadium came in April 2011, Sam Tomkins scored for Wigan that day with fellow Dragons star Micky McIlorum also on the scoresheet for Wigan.
