Emre Guler to join Trinity in 2027

Wakefield Trinity have confirmed the signing of Emre Guler from NRL side St George Illawarra Dragons for 2027.

The powerful middle forward has agreed a three-year deal with Trinity until the end of the 2029 season.

A team that already boasts some of the best props in the competition with the likes of Mike McMeeken, Caleb Hamlin-Uele and Caius Faatili all hitting their straps in 2026, Guler will add further brunt to one of Wakefield’s biggest strengths. 

Guler has appeared in every game so far in 2026 bringing his total games in the Red V to 29 since his move at the beginning of 2025.

At 28-years old the Turkish international has appeared in 123 NRL games since his debut for Canberra Raiders in 2018.

On signing for Wakefield, Emre Guler said: “Being off contract at the end of this year, my Management has been working behind the scenes talking with Clubs both in Australia and the UK.

"When discussions progressed with Wakefield, I saw it as a great opportunity for myself and my young family.

"Being only 28, I have gained valuable experience over the years with Strong Clubs playing NRL for the Canberra Raiders and St George Illawarra Dragons and saw it as the perfect time to sign a three-year deal with Wakefield.

"Wakefield are travelling very well in the Super League and after talking with their Matt, Ste and Daryl, they showed the professionalism and growth of the Club as well as their vision for the future and I am thoroughly looking forward to the move, being part of the challenges ahead, and joining a prestigious Club like Wakefield Trinity.”
