BWSL: Round 3 Round Up
8 Jun 2026
Leeds Rhinos claimed back-to-back wins in Round 3 of the Betfred Women’s Super League last weekend as they defeated York Valkyrie in a tough test at AMT Headingley.
It was a strong win for the Rhinos who took a 14-6 lead at the break after Kaiya Glynn, Nicole Kennedy and Ruby Enright headed over.
The Valkyrie gained momentum as Tamzin Renouf crossed followed by Sade Rihari shortly into the second 40, but the Rhinos did not relent as Keara Bennett dived across the line after Connie Boyd took them close to the line.
Ruby Walker added the conversion to wrap up the game at 30-10.
Also emerging victorious from the third round were Featherstone Rovers who collected their first league victory of 2026 after edging out Barrow Raiders in a compelling fixture.
The Raiders opened up the scoring as Emma Hutchinson sent Barrow ahead, but not before long Brogan Churm levelled the score to 6-6 at the half.
It was a cat and mouse game as Dani Waters scored a converted try for Fev, followed up by a second for Barrow as Chloe Capstick went over.
But Barrow's inability to convert gave the Rovers their first and final lead, extended by Ash Prescott to give them their first win of the BWSL season at 16-10.
Title holders Wigan Warriors again continued their dominance as they built up a huge lead against Leigh Leopards last Thursday (4 June).
The Warriors scored seven tries in the opening forty, showing no signs of slowing down following their Betfred Challenge Cup Final win the week prior.
The Hunter sisters were out in full force scoring a combined hat-trick alongside Cerys Jones' three to round off a huge win at 68-4.
The final game of the weekend came on Sunday (7 June) when St Helens took on Huddersfield Giants at Thatto Heath.
The Saints came back fighting following their Challenge Cup defeat to maintain their 100% record in the 2026 BWSL.
Dani McGifford opened up the scoring when she went over in the corner after four minutes before Maddie Hutchinson headed over to give the visitors a slight advantage with a converted try.
The game continued back and forth after Rachel Woosey added to the home side’s tally before Molly Iceton added her points for the Giants.
The pair headed back over to earn their braces following the break as the game headed into a nervy last 40.
Amelia Brown took the game within two points in the final quarter, but it was Faye Gaskin who sealed the win for the Red V with five minutes to spare as she headed under the posts to give Saints their third win in the league.
