Giants sign Zane Dunford with immediate effect

Huddersfield Giants have announced the signing of back-rower Zane Dunford on an 18-month contract from Brisbane Tigers.

The Aussie back-row forward has been excelling in the Queensland Cup competition during 2026 for Jim Lenihan's old side Brisbane, with the new Giants Head Coach bringing Zane to Huddersfield after signing him previously.

Only 24, his best years are still ahead of him.

Zane will arrive in the country over the weekend, and will join the Giants and add considerable size and power to their backs, as they look to move up the Super League table during the second half of the season, under the leadership of Lenihan.

Head Coach Jim Lenihan commented on the signing of Zane Dunford:

"I brought Zane over from Manly to Brisbane this year, and when the opportunity came up to bring him to Huddersfield we jumped at it, he's a great middle that has been playing and excelling in the back-row. A good line runner and tough in defence, we're over the moon to have him here for the next 18 months.

"Zane's also a great bloke as well and fits in to the people who we want to recruit here, he's looking forward to his chance in Super League and playing for Huddersfield. I know that he'll work extremely hard for the team and its a great addition for us."
