Magic WKND Team of the Week

There were plenty of magic moments on the field as Magic WKND found its home at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in 2026!

Here is your Magic WKND Team of the Week…

Two try scorers Cody Hunter and Jon Bennison feature as the Knights secured a win on what was their first ever Magic WKND appearance.

Jai Whitbread then impressed for the Robins as they came out on top in the Hull Derby. Whitbread scored once, made 28 tackles, five tackle busts and 95 metres in a 61-minute stint.

The Leopards continued their charge for the top six with a convincing win over the Wolves. One of their standout stars was Umyla Hanley who produced one try, one try assist, 20 tackles, four tackle busts and 121 metres in just eleven carries.

Olly Ashall-Bott’s display was truly magical for Toulouse at the first all-French Magic WKND. As Olympique put their French rivals to the sword, their electric full-back was at the heart of the action, with two tries, two try assists, a staggering eleven tackle busts, as well as 220 metres in 20 carries.

Mathieu Jussaume’s showing against the Dragons was also strong with two tries and 31 tackles - to cap off a memorable night in Castres!

There’s a trio of Trinity players in Magic WKND’s Team of the Week after they recorded their biggest ever margin of victory over their neighbours Castleford.

Lachlan Walmsley marked his return in style - assisting a try, before scoring in the corner with a sensational acrobatic finish and a surprise ‘Uno’ card reveal celebration which earned a £1,000 bonus to the MND Association.

Meanwhile, Caleb Hamlin-Uele kept up his outstanding form with two tries, ten tackle busts and 129 metres in 13 carries.

Jazz Tevaga also earns a deserved place in the side.

Likewise, there’s three Rhinos who appear, following their derby triumph against the Bulls.

Hat-trick hero Ash Handley enjoyed the perfect performance. As well as three tries, the winger assisted two more, made twelve tackle busts and ran 182 metres in just 16 carries.

Playmaker Jake Connor also scored and assisted two, guiding the current league leaders to a comprehensive victory and four points clear at the top of the Betfred Super League table.

Rounding out Leeds' trio is their teammate Chris Hankinson, whose consistent all-round performance also earns him selection.

Completing the Team of the Week is Brad O'Neill, who brought relentless intensity in the closing fixture of Magic WKND as the Warriors edged a fierce contest against the Saints.

Round 18 of the Betfred Super League kicks off with York Knights hosting Hull FC on Thursday Night (live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+).
