Round 18 Preview

Rolling into Round 18!

Thursday 9 July

York Knights v Hull FC (20.00) - live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

Thursday Night sees York Knights host Hull FC. The Knights are seeking a third straight win on the bounce, although it’s the Black & Whites who have won their last six away meetings with the York club.

If we cast our minds back to Round 3, however, it was Danny Richardson’s drop goal that won their most recent contest for the Knights…

Friday 10 July

Wigan Warriors v Warrington Wolves (20.00) - live on Sky Sports

A blockbuster encounter awaits on Friday Night, as Wigan and Warrington, both locked in on 24 league points, will face off, with the winner potentially sitting in second come the end of the round.

Last time out saw the Wolves beat the Warriors quite convincingly (23-6), although at present, Wigan have been in red hot form and are hunting down a sixth successive victory.

Warrington were well and truly defeated at Magic WKND last Saturday, and will be hoping to right their wrongs quickly as we head into the most important part of the season.

Huddersfield Giants v Bradford Bulls (20.00) - live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

Bradford Bulls make the short trip to Huddersfield on Friday, with the intentions of improving on their heavy Magic WKND defeat to a relentless Rhinos outfit.

Jim Lenihan’s Giants haven’t tasted victory since they last secured back-to-back wins over Wigan and York in late March/early April and are desperate for a change in fortunes.

Saturday 11 July

Leigh Leopards v Castleford Tigers (15.00) - live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

Leigh have won five of their last six Super League matches and find themselves just two points off sixth spot, meaning there is plenty at stake for Adrian Lam’s side.

They welcome the Tigers to the Leigh Sports Village, where the visitors' head coach Ryan Carr will be expecting an immediate response following their brutal beating by local rivals Wakefield Trinity at Magic WKND.

Hull KR v Wakefield Trinity (17.30) - live on Sky Sports

The champions are back at their fortress and will entertain a high-flying Trinity. It's 5th versus 4th at Sewell Group Craven Park with league positions all to play for.

Hull KR have won their last four home meetings with Wakefield and have also won each of their last 11 Super League home games - their longest ever such run in the competition.

Their last meeting did see Trinity snatch a victory in dramatic fashion, meaning that their Round 18 encounter promises to be a cracker!

Catalans Dragons v Leeds Rhinos (20.00 UK) - live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

Interestingly, Leeds have been nilled the past three times in Perpignan, but it seems very unlikely to happen this time round as the table toppers look to move even further clear at the top of the Betfred Super League table.

Can the Rhinos make it seven wins on the spin? Or will John Cartwright's Dragons possibly respond to their miserable Magic WKND loss to Toulouse last Saturday?

Sunday 12 July

St Helens v Toulouse Olympique (15.00) - live on Sky Sports and SuperLeague+

St Helens return home for Round 18 and will host Sylvain Houles’ Toulouse on Sunday.

The sides have met five times in history with Saints coming away as winners on four occasions.

With the Leopards knocking on the door for the Play-Offs, it's going to be a vital two points on offer for the Red V...
