BWhcSL: Round 11 Round Up

Round 11 of the Betfred Wheelchair Super League got underway at the weekend as the regular season entered its final three rounds.

London Roosters opened the weekend with a dominant win over Bradford Bulls.

The Roosters made a fast start and raced to a 74-6 victory despite huge efforts from the Bulls.

Leeds Rhinos then hosted Sheffield Eagles, continuing their strong form this season.

The Eagles put up a strong fight, scoring 42 points against the Rhinos, but Leeds proved too solid, securing a 74-42 win on home soil.

Elsewhere, Wigan Warriors faced Hull FC at Liverpool John Moores University, alongside their reserves side.

The Warriors started quickly as they looked to extend their seven-game winning run.

Jack Heggie went over inside two minutes and converted his own try.

He then combined with Adam Rigby to send Chris Greenhalgh over, giving Wigan an early 10-0 lead.

Hull FC responded through Devon Smith, with Josh Edwards adding the conversion, before Mark Williams got Wigan moving again.

The Cherry & Whites continued to build their lead while limiting Hull FC’s attacking impact.

Despite a spirited effort from the Black and Whites, including a hat-trick for Smith, the Warriors head into Round 12 on an eight-game winning streak.

The weekend concluded with reigning champions Halifax Panthers hosting Edinburgh Giants.

The Panthers controlled much of the contest and led 53-10 at half-time.

The Giants responded through Calum Davidson, who finished with five tries, while David Hill also crossed.

But the Panthers’ power proved decisive, with Rob Hawkins scoring seven tries and Jack Brown adding five.
