Round 25 Preview

The Final Charge continues this week as the race for the League Leaders' Shield and Play-Off positions intensifies with just three rounds of the regular season remaining.

Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors remain locked together on 38 points at the top of the table, while Warrington Wolves continue to apply pressure in third.

Further down, St Helens are still chasing a place in the top six, making every result crucial as Round 25 gets underway.

Thursday 27 August

Wigan Warriors vs Hull KR (20.00) - live on Sky Sports

A repeat of last year's Grand Final headlines Round 25 as second-placed Wigan Warriors welcome sixth-placed Hull KR to The Brick Community Stadium.

Wigan kept up their formidable winning streak with a victory over Wakefield Trinity last Friday and know that another two competition points could be vital in the race for the Shield. The Warriors sit level on points with leaders Leeds Rhinos, separated only by points difference.

Matt Peet’s men will face a youthful Robins outfit, who are also in need of a win in order to create distance between themselves and Saints.

The hosts will also pay tribute to the late Sir Billy Boston on Thursday Night, who sadly passed away earlier this week.

Friday 28 August

St Helens vs Leeds Rhinos (20.00) - live on Sky Sports

This is perhaps one of the standout fixtures of the weekend as seventh-placed St Helens host league leaders Leeds Rhinos.

It’s a must win games for both teams - the Rhinos will want to keep laying a marker at the top of the tree, whereas Saints need the two points if they are to keep their Play-Off hopes alive.

Eamon O’Carroll’s side know that anything less than a win could leave their destiny out of their own hands heading into the final two regular rounds.

Expect a huge atmosphere at the BrewDog Stadium as two of Super League’s heavyweights collide.

Castleford Tigers vs Catalans Dragons (20.00) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Castleford and Catalans may be out of the Play-Off conversation, but both sides will be keen to finish the season strongly.

Both endured defeat in Round 24. Whilst the Tigers will be looking to respond in front of their home supporters, the Dragons should now target finishing in eighth place.

Huddersfield Giants vs Leigh Leopards (20.00) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

An in-form Leigh Leopards head to the Accu Stadium looking to strengthen their grip on a Play-Off place.

The Leopards are currently fifth on 32 points after sweeping aside Bradford Bulls 62-10 in Round 24 and could take a significant step towards securing their top six status with another victory.

Meanwhile, the Giants, who have improved vastly in recent weeks, will be looking to spring a surprise against one of the form teams in the competition.

Saturday 29 August

Wakefield Trinity vs York Knights (17.30) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

An important game awaits for Wakefield Trinity who have to bounce back after enduring three straight defeats in their Final Charge.

Another loss could see their hopes of a Play-Off home tie slowly slip away, especially with the Leopards right behind them.

Will York Knights cause any surprises on Saturday?

Hull FC vs Warrington Wolves (17.30) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

A high-flying Warrington Wolves visit the MKM Stadium on Saturday.

The Wolves strengthened their hold on third place with a 34-24 victory over Huddersfield last weekend and remain within touching distance of the top two.

Sam Burgess' side have been among the competition's most consistent teams during The Final Charge and will look to maintain that momentum.

Meanwhile, the Black & Whites will be boosted by their late win in Perpignan and will be aiming to spoil Wire's ambitions while ending their season on a positive note.

Toulouse Olympique vs Bradford Bulls (20.00) - live on Sky Sports+ and SuperLeague+

Round 25 concludes in France as Toulouse Olympique take on Bradford Bulls.

The hosts will be fired up after their huge win over the champions last weekend, as Sylvain Houles' men target finishing as high as they possibly can.

Can an injury-hit Bradford compete in the south of France? Kurt Haggerty's men will be hoping they can avoid the wooden spoon come the end of 2026.
