The enthralling battle for the League Leaders’ Shield will go down to the wire and be decided in the final round of Betfred Super League action.

Wigan Warriors' emphatic 40-8 win at Leeds Rhinos in their top-of-the-table clash has left Matt Peet's side in pole position for the honours.

But everything is still on the line in Super League's fascinating battle to take the No1 position when Frantic Friday arrives next week.

The Warriors entertain Catalans Dragons while the Rhinos host Hull FC in Round 27 (both 8pm KO), with the Wigan contest being Sky Sports' principle pick with an hour build-up on Sky Sports Plus linear channel, and Leeds' game broadcast on Sky Sports Mix.

After Saturday's stunning win at AMT Headingley, Warriors are firm favourites to bag their third top spot in just four years.

Long-term leaders Rhinos are now two points behind their rivals but with a vastly superior points difference, so victory over the Black and Whites would still deliver them their first League Leaders' Shield since 2015, if the Warriors did slip up against the Dragons.

The trophy will be presented to the victors on the evening. Wigan now have a guaranteed home Play-Off Semi-Final leaving them just 80 minutes from the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 3.

There is still plenty up for grabs elsewhere on Frantic Friday, though, with FIVE games in total all kicking off at 8pm, all televised live and all promising plenty.

Fourth-placed Wakefield Trinity could still usurp Warrington Wolves from third as they aim for their best finish in the Super League era – but face a mouth-watering game at Leigh Leopards who are just two points behind them in fifth.

Warrington, who narrowly lost at Wakefield on Saturday, host in-form Toulouse Olympique who are desperate for the win which could yet see them finish higher than their French rivals Catalans.

Champions Hull KR, who visit St Helens, could also move up from sixth to fifth on the final night and Sky Sports will use Multiview for four of the five games.

The third and fourth –placed sides will earn home Eliminators in the first week of the Play-Offs.

Round 27 opens with York Knights v Bradford Bulls on Thursday night and concludes with Huddersfield Giants hosting Castleford Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

The following week, the Play-Offs begin with Eliminator 1 and Eliminator 2, before the Semi-Finals sees 2nd host the highest-ranked Eliminators winner and 1st versus the lowest-ranked winner.
