Round 26 Team of the Week

The Penultimate Round of the Betfred Super League hit different, with plenty of players stepping up their game just in time for the Play-Offs, and others looking to end their 2026 campaigns on a high.

It was a memorable evening for Ebon Scurr, who scored his first Super League try as Bradford Bulls overcame Castleford Tigers on Thursday.

In an outstanding 54-minute stint, Scurr not only crossed for a four-pointer but also produced 38 tackles, seven tackle busts and 109 metres from 12 carries.

Teammate and Bulls half-back Chris Atkin also produced three try assists against his former side.

Toulouse Olympique continued their impressive form in Round 26 with a commanding victory over Hull FC. At the heart of that success was Henry O'Kane, who scored twice and set up another as Toulouse strengthened their push for eighth spot.

Once again, Umyla Hanley was among the standout performers as Leigh Leopards secured their Play-Off place.

The centre's name continues to feature prominently in conversations surrounding the Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel Award and a place in England's World Cup squad, and performances like this explain why.

Hanley added another two terrific tries to his growing tally as Leigh swept aside St Helens.

Hull KR duo Jack Broadbent and Jez Litten also make the Team of the Week after helping the Robins confirm their place in the top six.

Broadbent crossed for two tries, registered an assist and amassed 193 metres, while Litten scored once and set up another as the reigning champions controlled the game against Huddersfield Giants at Sewell Group Craven Park.

On Saturday, Wakefield Trinity moved a step closer to securing a top four finish, with both Tom Johnstone and Isaiah Vagana playing pivotal roles.

Johnstone opened the scoring for Trinity, produced a crucial try saver and finished with 193 metres and four tackle busts in a hard-fought victory.

Vagana's brace early in the second half helped swing momentum back in Wakefield's favour, with the second rower putting in a monumental shift - 28 tackles, eight tackle busts and 104 metres.  

Paul Vaughan became the hero of York Knights in Perpignan. The influential prop was at his industrious best, recording 20 tackles, seven tackle busts and 130 metres.

As if that wasn't enough, Vaughan powered over for the match-winning try in the 79th minute despite spending just 48 minutes on the field.

Finally, FOUR Wigan Warriors players feature in this week's side after Matt Peet's side put one hand on the League Leaders' Shield with truly dominant display against Leeds Rhinos.

Adam Keighran's hat-trick ensured he was among the standout performers in Round 26, while youngster Austin Daniel never once looked out of place in the first team; impressing with one try, one try assist and 146 metres.

Ollie Partington was immense as ever in the middle, and the influential Bevan French once again demonstrated his class, recording a try, three assists and a perfectly executed 40/20.
