Betfred Wheelchair Super League Play-Offs get underway this weekend

The final four will meet in the Betfred Wheelchair Super League Play-Offs this weekend, competing for a place in the Grand Final on Sunday 20 September at Belle Vue Leisure Centre, Manchester (KO 5:30pm).

Halifax Panthers secured home advantage for the Play-Offs after winning the League Leaders’ Shield in Round 13.

Leeds Rhinos claimed the second home advantage spot in last week’s final round, finishing second after an exceptionally tight contest. Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and London Roosters all ended the season on 20 points, leaving points difference to decide the final standings.

This weekend, the Panthers welcome the Roosters after narrowly beating them last time out.

With the Betfred Challenge Cup already secured, the Panthers are one title away from matching last season’s dominance and completing the treble for a second consecutive campaign.

Seeking redemption, the Roosters will be determined to overturn last week’s six-point gap and reach their first final of the year.

In the second play-off, Leeds Rhinos host Wigan Warriors as both sides battle for the remaining Grand Final place.

Reaching the Grand Final would give the Rhinos a second shot at silverware, after facing the Panthers in July’s Challenge Cup final.

Leeds opened the scoring through Josh Butler but struggled to regain momentum in the second 40, as player of the match Rob Hawkins delivered a standout performance for the Panthers to secure their first silverware of the season.

This weekend, the Rhinos face a Warriors side fighting to reach their first final since 2024. 

The Warriors have been strong throughout the season, sitting second for much of the campaign before the Rhinos pushed them into third in the final round.

With four teams still in contention and only two Grand Final places available, this weekend promises a decisive battle for glory.
