Man of Steel: Round 10 Picks

Blake Austin’s time at the top of the Man of Steel table was short-lived, he overtook James Roby last week but this week we have a new leader, Wakefield Trinity star David Fifita and he’s joined by his teammate Danny Brough in the top four. 

 A member of the panel will watch each Betfred Super League game in 2019 and award points to the three outstanding players: 3 points for their chosen stand-out performer, two points for the runner-up, and 1-point for their third ranked player. 

The scores will be made public every week, until Round 22 in mid-July. After that, the poll will be hidden until the Awards Ceremony in October.

Hull KR vs London Broncos (Danny McGuire) 

Hull KR and London Broncos played there Round 10 fixture earlier on in the season due to the Challenge Cup. Danny McGuire was awarded 3-points for his performance which takes him into the top 10. McGuire made 21 tackles, two tackles bust and four attacking kicks. 

Salford Red Devils vs Leeds Rhinos (Jack Walker) 

Like Hull KR and London Broncos, these two teams played their Round 10 fixture earlier on in the season. It was Leeds Rhinos’ first victory and Jack Walker was the stand-out performer. He scored a hat-trick of tries, making 216 metres off 14 carries. 

Huddersfield Giants vs Castleford Tigers (Ukuma Ta’ai) 

Ukuma Ta’ai picked up his first Man of Steel points in Giants’ victory over Castleford Tigers. Ta’ai made 36 tackles, 131 metres off 18 carries and five tackles busts. 

Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors (David Fifita) 

David Fifita picked up another three-points to take him to the top of the Man of Steel standings, the Wakefield star leads the board by one-point. Fifita made 168 metres, 29 tackles, seven tackle busts and this try assist! 

St Helens vs Warrington Wolves (Jonny Lomax)

St Helens are now top of the Super League table after an impressive performance against rivals Warrington Wolves. Jonny Lomax picked up his second Man of Steel 3-points to double his tally to six. He scored a try, assisted one, made four tackle busts and 93 metres. 

Catalans Dragons vs Hull FC (Marc Sneyd) 

It was a dramatic victory for Hull FC in Perpignan, they won 31-30 in golden point time. Who else? But, Marc Sneyd. It was his drop goal that sent the jubilant away fans back to England with two points. He kicked five goals, made one assist and scored the crucial game-winning drop goal.
