Over 20,000 tickets sold for derby

Over 20,000 tickets have been sold for Wigan Warriors vs St Helens.

Over 20,000 tickets have been sold for Friday’s Good Friday derby clash between Wigan Warriors and St Helens at the DW Stadium, kick-off 3pm.

As demand for tickets continues to gather momentum for Friday’s grudge match against fierce rivals St Helens, Wigan Warriors fans are strongly advised to snap up their tickets for the highly anticipated clash, with only a small number of East Stand and South Stand tickets left to purchase ahead of the game.

DW Stadium Ticket Office Manager, Michael Jolliffe: “We have limited availability in the East and South stands now, so anyone who is looking to collect tickets on the day, we strongly advise them to give themselves plenty of time before kick-off to do so as the Ticket Office will be extremely busy come game day.??

On the importance of having a partisan Wigan crowd at the DW Stadium, Wigan Warriors’ skipper, Sean O’Loughlin said: “What the fans bring to the game is massive for us as they want to win just as much as players.  So with them getting down in numbers and giving us support it definitely adds to the performance of the players and gets five or ten per cent more out of everyone.

“Normally over the Easter period people are off work, enjoying the holiday spirit and this game can hopefully kick start that for everybody.??

It is a sentiment echoed by Wigan Warriors Head Coach, Adrian Lam: “There’s no doubt that this is the biggest game of the season, not only for the players, but for both fans who want the bragging rights as well.  Our home support has a big role to play on Friday, and hopefully we’re on for a bumper crowd for a fixture and occasion that deserves one.??
