Leeds Rhinos 28-24 Hull KR

Two tries from Ash Handley helped Leeds Rhinos defeat Hull KR at Headingley, holding off a fightback from the visitors to win 28-24 and move up to 10th in the Betfred Super League.

The Rhinos leapfrogged the Robins on the ladder by handing Tim Sheens’ struggling men their sixth loss in seven matches.

Behind 22-0 at half-time, Hull KR fought back bravely but could not complete a miracle come-from-behind win.

Handley crossed twice before Tui Lolohea bamboozled the Hull KR defence before finding Tom Briscoe with a timely cut-out pass – and he scored in the corner.

Straight from the kick-off and right before half-time, Matt Parcell burned the markers at dummy half and Jack Walker was in support for the try.

It continued to get worse for Hull KR in the second half as only five minutes in Parcell dived over.

The Robins finally hit back through a pair of Ben Crooks scores.

Kane Linnett and Weller Hauraki then touched down to make it a nervous ending for Leeds.
