Hampshire seals Trinity victory
3 May 2019

Ryan Hampshire’s 75th-minute penalty proved decisive as injury-hit Wakefield Trinity edged to a thrilling 26-25 victory at Huddersfield Giants in Betfred Super League.
The Giants were leading 25-24 after stand-off Oliver Russell landed a drop-goal but Trinity were not to be denied as Hampshire’s two-pointer earned his side the win and gave him a 10-point haul.
Wakefield raced into a 12-0 lead through Mason Caton-Brown's double before Matt Frawley crossed for the Giants, but David Fifita's converted try restored the 12-point advantage before half-time.
Huddersfield came roaring back in the second period with Jermaine McGillvary crossing twice in four minutes and Adam O'Brien also touching down, before Russell added his fourth goal.
Ben Jones-Bishop's try and Hampshire's conversion levelled things up before Russell's drop goal, but Trinity had the final say.
