Find out what 'Scully' had to say about Magic Weekend & Camp Nou

What makes Magic Weekend different?

I think obviously the atmosphere! I think it’s a great opportunity for players who are, with no disrespect, at the lesser clubs who maybe don’t get to finals to play on a big stadium and in front of a big crowd, and I know a lot of players who have said that, and have enjoyed that experience so it’s very different that way!

And obviously, having all the fans from all the teams with all clubs playing over that weekend it is a bit different in preparation.

What was your first Magic Weekend experience like in Cardiff?

So I played in the first ever Magic Weekend over in Cardiff which was a brilliant concept, and hence why it’s still around all these years later. I just think our sport leads the way in that, and to be able to do that [have all fans in one stadium], with the respect of the fans. You can have 12 teams and 12 sets of fans in one stadium and there was never any trouble, which is something I think our game should shout about.

Anfield and Camp Nou in two weeks, that's special?

It shows we’re looking for new things and new ways to promote the game which is always positive.

For Catalans and Wigan players to get the chance to play at Camp Nou, it’s probably a dream come true for a lot of them, and again this shows Barcelona are promoting our sport to millions of followers. Hopefully we’ll get a lot of new people into the stadium and get a lot of new eyes watching the game, and I’m not sure I’ve ever met someone that’s watched a game of rugby league and not enjoyed it.
