Faraimo signs new Hull FC contract

28-year-old Bureta Faraimo signs a new two-year contract.

Hull FC have confirmed that winger Bureta Faraimo has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

The 28-year old who joined the club at the start of the 2018 season has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain at the KCOM Stadium until at least the end of the 2021 Betfred Super League campaign.

The former New Zealand Warriors and Parramatta Eels man has proved to be a formidable asset for Lee Radford since making the move from the NRL, scoring 25 times in 45 club appearances.

The USA-international has formed impressive partnerships with centres Josh Griffin, Carlos Tuimavave and Jake Connor during his opening two seasons with the club.

Faraimo finished as the club's top-scorer in the league in 2018 with 17 tries, as well as being the second-top metre maker in the entire Black & White squad. Averaging 108 metres a game during his 18-months with the club, he has proved to be one of the most exciting wingers in the competition.

The explosive back becomes the latest name to secure his future with the Airlie Birds, following a new deal for play-maker Marc Sneyd earlier this season, and deals for Josh Jones and Adam Swift who will join the club for the new campaign in 2020.

Speaking on the decision to sign a new deal with the club, Faraimo said: "I'm really happy to get the deal over the line. The aim now is to win trophies with the club. I believe we're on the right path at the moment to do that.

"I love it here. When I joined, the players and the coaching staff made me feel really welcome and that helped me settle in.

"Hull has a great community. My family love it here which made the decision to stay much easier."

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford commented: "I'm really pleased that he has decided to stay with the club. He's been a great signing since his arrival 18 months ago, and he's hitting some really impressive form of late. He's only going to improve as time goes by too.

"He's proven that he is a quality finisher. Going forward he is massive for us aswell. And not only is he a great asset on the field, he's a top bloke off the field too and well-loved in the group. He's a great guy to have around the place.

"Bureta has really taken to the culture of the place and bought into what this club is about. He's turned out to be a real fans favourite."
