Man of Steel: Round 19 Picks

Blake Austin remains at the top with Jackson Hastings in second.

A member of the panel will watch each Betfred Super League game in 2019 and award points to the three outstanding players: 3 points for their chosen stand-out performer, two points for the runner-up, and 1-point for their third ranked player. 

The scores will be made public every week, until Round 22 in mid-July. After that, the poll will be hidden until the Awards Ceremony in October.

London Broncos vs Hull KR (Jordan Abdull)

Jordan Abdull picked up his second consecutive 3-points, this time against Hull KR in a crucial relegation match. Abdull was Broncos’ most influential player, he scored a try, made 101 metres and 11 attacking kicks. 

Huddersfield Giants vs Wigan Warriors (Sean O’Loughlin)

Wigan moved closer to the play-off positions with a 38-22 away victory over Huddersfield Giants. Sean O’Loughlin scored a try, assisted two, made 25 tackles, and 102 metres. 

St Helens vs Leeds Rhinos (Tommy Makinson)

Tommy Makinson scored a contender for try of the season with his dive into the corner under pressure. He also made 206 metres, four clean breaks and 12 tackle busts in Saints’ 36-10 victory over Leeds.

Warrington Wolves vs Wakefield Trinity (Daryl Clark)

Daryl Clark moved into sixth position in the Man of Steel standings after picking up three points and helping Warrington to victory over Wakefield Trinity. Clark made an impressive 36 tackles, 189 metres and 12 tackle busts.

Salford Red Devils vs Castleford Tigers (Jackson Hastings)

Jackson Hastings picked up another three Man of Steel points, his side Salford Red Devils moved into the top five of Betfred Super League following a 26-16 victory. Hastings scored a try, made two assists, 20 tackles, and 100 metres.

Catalans Dragons vs Hull FC (Josh Griffin)

Josh Griffin scored two tries in Hull FC’s demolition of Catalans Dragons in Perpignan. Griffin also assisted a try, made 23 tackles, 11 tackle busts, 3 clean breaks and 190 metres.
