Joe Westerman Update

Hull FC loose forward Joe Westerman dislocated his knee in last night’s Derby clash with Hull Kingston Rovers, but the 29-year saw the remainder of the match out after popping it back in himself.

Westerman became tangled in an awkward tackle and in the 77th minute of last night’s game, which saw him dislocate his knee.

Hundreds of rugby league fans took to social media to applaud Westerman’s bravery to continue for the remainder of last night’s intense match.

Speaking to the club website, Westerman said: “It’s sweet, to be honest. I expect to be training next week and I can’t really see myself missing our next game against St Helens next Friday,?? Westerman told the club.

“I just twisted in the tackle and Mose Masoe came in with the chop and my knee just popped out. There was no malice in the tackle or anything like that.

“I looked at my leg and saw my knee cap on the side and I felt like I had to just smack it back in. It wasn’t really an excruciating pain. It freaked me out more than anything because it looked so weird.??
