Leeds Rhinos returned to winning ways to climb off the foot of the Betfred Super League table after a convincing 31-12 victory over out-of-form Catalans Dragons.

As a result, the battle to avoid relegation intensifies further as the bottom four teams all sit on 14 points with just nine rounds remaining.

Leeds raced into an 18-0 lead after 17 minutes thanks to tries from Adam Cuthbertson, Tom Briscoe's brilliant interception score and Brad Singleton before the visitors hit back through Arthur Romano.

Sam Tomkins reduced the match to one score after the break but Konrad Hurrell powered over for Leeds and a Richie Myler drop-goal ensured Catalans needed three tries to claim victory.

However, Jack Walker ran in Leeds' final try to move the Rhinos up to ninth in the table as the Dragons' suffered their fifth successive defeat in all competitions.
