Man of Steel: Round 21 Picks

A member of the panel will watch each Betfred Super League game in 2019 and award points to the three outstanding players: 3 points for their chosen stand-out performer, two points for the runner-up, and 1-point for their third ranked player. 

The scores will be made public every week, until Round 22 in mid-July. After that, the poll will be hidden until the Awards Ceremony in October.

Salford Red Devils vs Huddersfield Giants (Kruise Leeming)

Huddersfield Giants hooker Kruise Leeming picked up three Man of Steel points after his display in Giants’ 36-18 victory over Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium. Leeming scored a try, assisted two, made 41 tackles and 80 metres. 

Hull FC vs St Helens (Lachlan Coote)

Lachlan Coote picked up his first three Man of Steel points of the season, previous to Round 21, Coote had only been awarded one or two points, the three points awarded sees him move up to fourth in the standings. Coote scored two tries and made over 100 metres. 

Wigan Warriors vs Hull KR (George Williams)

Wigan Warriors moved into the top five after a convincing 52-10 victory over Hull KR at the DW Stadium. George Williams pulled the strings in attack; he scored a try and assist and made nine tackles busts. 

Catalans Dragons vs Wakefield Trinity (Tony Gigot)

Catalans Dragons moved into fifth position with a win against Wakefield Trinity in Perpignan. Sky Sports commentators described Tony Gigot as a ‘box office’, he scored two tries, made two assists, and five attacking kicks. 

London Broncos vs Warrington Wolves (Ben Currie)

Warrington Wolves scored all 36 of their points in the first-half against London Broncos, with Matty Fozard scoring London’s only try in the second-half. Ben Currie picked up three points for his performance; he assisted a try, made 28 tackles and 87 metres. 

Castleford Tigers vs Leeds Rhinos (Jack Walker)

Leeds Rhinos moved two points off the bottom of the table with an 18-10 victory over rivals Castleford Tigers at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle. Walker scored a try, made four tackle busts, and 93 metres, whilst being solid under the high ball.
