LDSL festivals heads to KCOM Craven Park

The stars of the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League will play at one of rugby league’s most iconic stadiums this weekend, when Hull KR host the latest festival at the KCOM Craven Park.

On Sunday 11th August, The Robins play host to Castleford Tigers, St Helens, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, York City Knights and Leeds Rhinos.

The festival will run from 11am-1pm, with free entry to the inspiring event.

The Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League is a collaboration between Super League, the RFL and the national social care charity, Community Integrated Care

It has seen 12 leading rugby league clubs establish accessible teams for people with learning disabilities and autism, with support and training from the charity.

Participants play a specially adapted version of the game that they love at special festivals and Super League events.

Josh Munro, star of the Hull KR side said: “I enjoy every second, every moment and every opportunity that this gives me. I am looking forward to playing at the home of Hull KR on Sunday at our festival. It is going to be yet another electrifying day. It is an honour to play for Hull KR in the LDSL and I thank Community Integrated Care for their continued support.??

Liam Waslin, Hull KR's coach said: “We are very proud to play host the next Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League festival this Sunday. The festivals that have taken place this year have been outstanding and hopefully we can match that. It is fantastic to see so many people playing the sport they love and it just goes to show how inclusive rugby league is. To say you play for a Super League team is a massive honour and every player of every team deserves this.“

Mark Adams, CEO of Community Integrated Care, added: “Hull KR have shown an incredible passion for the Community Integrated Care Learning Disability Super League, so it is fitting that they are hosting this latest festival. It will be a dream come true for the players to step out on such a famous rugby league stadium and show off the skills that they are developing in training every week. We hope that supporters of all clubs come down and cheer on the teams, in what will be another inspiring event.

We have been astounded by the growth of the Learning Disability Super League this year. This has only been possible because of the passion demonstrated by the participating clubs, RFL and Super League in making this the greatest success possible.??
